Course Overview
Sessions 1 and 2
Psychiatric and Emotional Cases
Friday 13 November 2026
Saturday 14 November 2026
10.00 am to 12.30 pm UK time, GMT
Understanding the patient beyond the psychiatric diagnosis
These sessions will explore how to work with acute and chronic psychiatric conditions, including depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, as well as emotional cases involving grief, fear, anger, guilt and disappointment.
Psychiatric and emotionally complex cases often require a different quality of case-taking. The patient may be overwhelmed by intense feelings, fixed within the symptoms of a psychiatric condition, guarded in their communication or unable to move beyond familiar explanations of their distress. These sessions will introduce a sensitive, structured and integrative approach to understanding the patient through their physical, mental, emotional and individual experience. Participants will explore how to create a safe, patient-centred environment, recognise characteristic expressions within complex symptom presentations and differentiate between features of the pathology and the deeper pattern that runs through the person’s life. Through guided questioning methods, a four-area case witnessing process, clinical examples, therapeutic diary work, posology and follow-up criteria, the sessions aim to help practitioners approach psychiatric and emotional cases with greater clarity, confidence and clinical depth.
You will learn:
-
A structured four-area case witnessing process
-
How to gather physical, mental, emotional and holistic symptoms
-
How to distinguish pathological delusions from the patient’s deeper individual state
-
How to create a safe, patient-centred consultation
-
Guided questions and creative methods for difficult cases
-
The use of a therapeutic diary between consultations
-
Posology and follow-up criteria in psychiatric cases
-
The role and timing of supportive counselling
Clinical cases will demonstrate the complete process from case-taking to remedy differentiation and follow-up.
Sessions 3 and 4
Autoimmune and Deep Pathological Cases
Saturday 28 November 2026
Sunday 29 November 2026
10.00 am to 12.30 pm UK time, GMT
Understanding deep pathology without losing sight of the individual
These sessions will introduce a multidimensional approach to autoimmune and chronic pathological cases.
Autoimmune and deeply pathological cases can be challenging because the clinical picture is often crowded with diagnoses, investigations, medication histories and common disease symptoms, while the more individualising features may be difficult to recognise. These sessions will present a practical, multidimensional framework for understanding the pathology without losing sight of the person who is experiencing it. Participants will learn how to organise complex information, identify what is characteristic, build a coherent totality and consider the patient’s physical generals, emotional responses, causative factors, sensations and overall experience alongside the disease process. The programme will also explore remedy understanding through materia medica, clinical observation, innate and adaptive immunity, patient-centred diary work, posology and detailed follow-up assessment. Long-term case illustrations will show how to observe the direction of change and manage these cases with greater patience, precision and consistency.
You will learn:
-
A structured two-step case-taking module
-
How to organise complex medical and case information
-
How to distinguish common disease symptoms from individualising symptoms
-
How to build a clear and balanced totality
-
A multidimensional approach to remedy study
-
An accessible understanding of innate and adaptive immunity
-
The use of an autoimmune-centred patient diary
-
How to assess aggravation, exteriorisation and direction of cure
-
Practical criteria for first and long-term follow-ups
Long-term clinical cases will show how the case develops over time and how posology, repetition and follow-up decisions can be approached systematically.
What You Will Take Away?
-
A clearer structure for difficult case-taking
-
Greater confidence in identifying the individual state
-
Practical methods for remedy differentiation
-
Better understanding of posology and follow-up
-
Tools that can be applied directly in everyday practice
